Formed in 2017 by Ivan (drums) and Rizal (bass), Sunbath was built around an alternative rock concept that brings the nostalgia of the 1990s into the present. Initially joined by Mojan on guitar and vocals, the trio released their debut EP, Strange Day, through Oblivion Records in 2021. During the recording process, Zulfi joined on guitar to create a fuller sound.

In 2022, Mojan departed and relocated to Bali, leading to a new lineup with En on vocals, Firman on guitar, and Eko on keyboards, tambourine, and sequencer. Based in Bandung, Sunbath explores themes of everyday life, personal experiences, and the complexities of love through its lyrics.
